Babies and Puppies, Oh My!

Perfect fall day at Quiet Waters! Not to mention a very busy day for me. Two morning family sessions near the water. Then, being part of the 13th Annual Howl-O-Ween Bash for the afternoon. I have never switched gears so fast! Thankfully my family sessions were awesome to work with and made it too easy! Yes, even taking pictures with a baby in my lap was a piece of cake! The off to an event I had never done before. It was an experience watching so many dogs in one spot. All their little and big personalities mingling, really reminded me of having a field of toddlers. I got to  meet so many great owners and their pets, even photograph some as well. They were hams for the camera, as you can see. I was also able to showcase my artistic prints. I had quite a bit of interest in that side of my photography. It is always awesome to meet people who enjoy what I do, brings a great sense of joy to know that what I capture becomes important to others. Overall, a wonderful day!

My most recent shoot was a team shoot for the Blue Starz All-Star teams. In total, my largest group session ever! I was up for the challenge. We went from mid day sun to dusk. Thank goodness for manual settings and patience. We landed the shots. They were a great group of kids to work with and I look forward to doing it again next year!

light painting photography

As you can guess, from the name, NMB Creativity, I am all about photographing anything that strikes me. I have more than a portrait side to my work, I also love still-life, street photography.  For me, capturing a moment is not cut and dry, it's having an eye, talent, skill, patience, and above all creativity. I didn't want to box myself in as only a photographer, but an artist. I photograph whatever strikes me, whenever. I am always looking for those little details most of us miss. Not just sunsets, Landscapes and pretty things, but life--- all of it-- the good, the bad, the ugly, the unusual.

Who is the NMB of NMB Creativity?

I am Natalie M. Benjamin, an Annapolis based owner of NMBCreativity. I have always had a passion for photography for as long as I can remember. With lots of encouragement, dedication and a huge leap of faith, I launched NMB Creativity in 2013. My heart lies in the seemingly ordinary. Capturing those candid moments, the natural feel of a family, being an observer of people and of life. I am a family, landscape, and street photographer. A purist when it comes to my work, as I do very little editing, A mother, a wife, an educator, a small business owner, a photographer all roles that allow me to do my best for you. I am pursuing my photography certification through Anne Arundel County Community College, I am an active member in the Maryland Federation of Art and of local photography groups, always learning.
